As the console seems to be singing its Swan Song, it seems appropriate to remember the PS2 as having one of the greatest game libraries in the history of the industry. This rings especially true for the Role Playing genre, so here’s a look at some of the finest the genre has to offer PS2 owners:

 

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance
A hardcore traditional RPG on the PC, Baldur’s Gate made a stunning debut on the PS2 with this entry, which still stands as one of the best action RPGs on the system.
DRAGON QUEST VIII: Journey of the Cursed King
A series that sadly hasn’t gotten its just due in North America, Dragon Quest is an unsung gem in the RPG world. Luckily, this entry to the franchise made a believer out of many US gamers thanks to its traditional gameplay and excellent art direction.
Persona 3: FES
The latest title in the long-running Persona franchise was arguably the best, giving the series’ hardcore fanbase exactly what it deserved after the long wait from its predecessor.

My personal fav is Kingdom Hearts.. I love playing this game. I can't think of anything bad to say about it.

Baldures Gate: Dark Alliance...great..double the fun with 2 player co op mode.
