REDOCTANE® CO-FOUNDERS ELECTED AS
TOP 50 PRODUCERS IN NEW MEDIA FOR 2006
Brothers Honored with High Distinction for Innovation in the Videogame
Industry
RedOctane®, a leading rhythm-action
videogame publisher, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision, Inc., today
announced that brothers, Kai and Charles Huang, co-founders of the company, have
been elected as one of the top 50 producers in New Media for 2006, presented by
the Producers Guild of America New Media Council membership.
The Hollywood Reporter/Producers Guild of America Digital 50 award was created
to acknowledge the contribution of individuals that are creating opportunities
for content to be produced and distributed in a digital format. The exclusive
list of producers was elected by an elite board of directors, which includes
famed movie directors Jerry Bruckheimer and Brian Grazer.
"To be included in such a prestigious group of celebrated industry leaders is an
amazing honor and accomplishment,” said Kai Huang, president and co-founder of
RedOctane. “I admire many of these individuals for their accomplishments, and
to be mentioned in the same breath as them is absolutely tremendous.”
“We always envisioned success for the Guitar Hero franchise, but it has
certainly exceeded our expectations to transcend demographic barriers, now
becoming one of the highest-rated videogames ever,” said Charles Huang, vice
president of business development and co-founder of RedOctane.
The PGA New Media Council represents producers in broadband, digital animation,
digital visual effects, DVD, games, interactive television, and mobile. For
