Konami selects BradyGames as exclusive strategy guide partner

Metal Gear Solid(r) 2: Sons of Liberty(tm) Official Strategy Guide is one of several key titles to be published under new agreement

INDIANAPOLIS - Oct. 17, 2001 - Two game industry giants - Konami of America, Inc. and BradyGames - have joined forces to help gamers enjoy some of this year's biggest games.

In an agreement announced today, BradyGames will have exclusive rights to publish strategy guides for several upcoming Konami games, including Metal Gear Solid(r) 2: Sons of Liberty(tm), expected to be one of the biggest action games of the 2001 holiday season.

"We chose BradyGames because they publish the top-notch guides - they're well-written, comprehensive and very high quality," said Chris Garske, vice president of marketing for Konami of America. "Gamers respond very favorably to Brady's guides and they have been a great partner to work with in this venture."

Under terms of the agreement, Konami granted BradyGames official and exclusive rights to publish strategy guides for the following and other titles:

* Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. One of the most anticipated games of the year, Metal Gear Solid 2 is scheduled for release in November. The original Metal Gear Solid sold an outstanding 6 million units worldwide.

* Silent Hill(r) 2. Silent Hill 2, which released in September, is a sequel to the original horror survival game. It brings players back to the eerie town of Silent Hill for a new story, new characters, and new areas to explore.

* Frogger: The Great Quest(tm). The classic franchise character Frogger returns this November - this time to a new, 3D world.
