ACCLAIM ENTERTAINMENT, INC.'S 'DAVE MIRRA FREESTYLE BMX 2' BECOMES OFFICIAL BMX VIDEO GAME SPONSOR OF 2001 GRAVITY GAMES

Ushering in the 'Freestyle Thursday' September 6, 2001 launch of its eagerly
anticipated Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 for the PlayStation®2 computer
entertainment system, Acclaim Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ.SC: AKLM) today
announced that the title has become the official BMX video game sponsor of the
2001 Summer Gravity Games. As the official BMX video game sponsor, Acclaim will
host a festival booth filled with kiosks that will let attendees play Dave Mirra
Freestyle BMX 2 prior to and throughout its nationwide launch on 'Freestyle
Thursday' September 6, 2001. The company will also have Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX
2 signage throughout the main stadium and event area, sponsorships on
www.gravitygames.com and a national television commercial that will air on NBC
during their coverage of the competition. In addition, Acclaim will be giving
away an assortment of raffle prizes at their booth, and Dave Mirra will make an
appearance at 2:00 p.m. on 'Freestyle Thursday' to sign autographs, meet fans
and help launch the game.

Held in Providence, Rhode Island, the 2001 Summer Gravity Games will take place
from September 1-9, 2001. Created by Primedia's Action Sports Group and
televised on NBC Sports beginning September 30, the Gravity Games feature 250
world-class athletes from 17 different countries, competing in 16 events,
including BMX, Aggressive Inline Skating, Skateboarding, Downhill Skateboarding,
Street Luge, Wakeboarding and Freestyle Motocross.

Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 will be available on "Freestyle Thursday" September
