Did you know:
-
By using the new Wingman Command feature in Ace Combat 5, players can:
- Experience a
heightened level of strategy by commanding their very own squadron to assist in
more than 30 missions ranging from air-to-air combat, air-to-ground fighting,
air-to-sea assaults, rescue, recon and more;
- Issue mid-mission directives such as Cover, Disperse, Attack and
Use Special Weapons to their fellow wingmen;
- Create a squadron that's best suited for each mission from more
than 50 different licensed planes for each of their wingmen;
- Immerse themselves in the thick of aerial action by heading up a
formation and watching their three wingmen roll and disperse outward, or locking
onto an enemy target with their squadron and demolishing it together with a
barrage of ammo.
-
Wingmen callsigns in Ace Combat 5 include Edge, Chopper, Archer, Heartbreak One, Swordsman and Blaze.
-
Contrary to popular belief, real-life fighter pilots rarely receive cool callsigns like “Maverick” or “Iceman.” A pilot’s callsign is usually given by his/her comrades and is associated with the pilot’s last name or commemorates something memorable the pilot has done, such as “Crash” or “Puke.”
