Gamers Rewarded for Renting Hot 2005 Games
Including 'Medal of Honor
European Assault(TM),' 'Destroy All Humans(TM),' and 'Fantastic 4(R)'
DALLAS, June
9 -- BLOCKBUSTER will add key incentives for gamers to rent their favorite games
with the return of the "Play 2 Win Sweepstakes!." For the remainder of
2005, casual and avid gamers alike can win trips, collectibles, home electronics
and more by simply renting the "Play 2 Win" feature game at all participating
BLOCKBUSTER and Game Rush@BLOCKBUSTER stores.
The program launches on June 10 with "Medal of Honor: European Assault." The
grand prize winner will receive a four-day, three-night trip for two to
Washington D.C. Other games and prizing this year include "Destroy All
Humans," where the grand prize winner receives an LCD HDTV and custom Xbox
system, and "Fantastic 4," where the grand prize winner will receive a first
edition "Fantastic 4" comic book signed by Stan Lee.
"Any customer who rents a "Play 2 Win" title is automatically entered in the
sweepstakes," said Glenn Broderick, director of rental marketing for
Blockbuster/Game Rush. "Grand prizes reflect the topic of the game and the
sweepstakes support the Blockbuster motto: 'Renting is better than ever(TM).'
In fact, even the second and third place winners receive prizes such as a
year-long BLOCKBUSTER Game Pass, a gift that keeps on giving as we stock our
shelves with hot new releases this year."
The "Play 2 Win Sweepstakes!" began in 2004 featuring titles such as "Star Wars:
Battlefront," "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas," "Halo(R) 2," "WWE Smackdown! vs.
Raw," and "DragonBall Z: Budokai 3." Winners of the 2004 "Play 2 Win
Sweepstakes!" included:

"Star Wars: Battlefront" grand prize of The Ultimate Star Wars Entertainment
