New York, NY April 6, 2001 - Codemasters has secured the talents of David Morales, one of the most sought after remixers and DJs on the global house scene, to front the European edition of MTV Music Generator 2, the games console music creation package, due on May 22, 2001 on PlayStation 2.

Morales will be joined by the grooviest selection of music artists in a line up of international acts whose tracks have been recreated entirely using MTV Music Generator 2ıs powerful software.

The line up of full phat artists confirmed to date is: Gorillaz, Apollo 440, Cassandra Fox, Bentley Rhythm Ace, Dano, Funkmaster Flex, Halo Varga, Tony Hewitt, and Zombie Nation (see artist and track listing below, more artists may be confirmed before launch).

Gorillaz, the collaboration fronted by Blurıs Damon Albarn and cult artist Jamie Hewlett, is one of the most significant signings for MTV Music Generator 2. Currently breaking into major mainstream with critical acclaim, Gorillaz has created an original track called ³Dub Dumb², exclusively for MTV Music Generator 2 which users can remix. Additionally, the video of current hit Clint Eastwood will be featured as a special extra with the package.

MTV Music Generator 2 harnesses the rich 48-channel audio capabilities of the PlayStation 2 and recreates the artistsı tracks superbly. The software also enables players to edit, remix each trackıs riffs and create their own video sequences to run with the music. Players can also compose original soundtracks by utilizing almost 10,000 editable riffs and samples from the eight different musical style libraries featured: Pop, House, Hip Hop, Garage, Indie, R&B, Rock and Trance.

Morales introduces the software in a front-end video sequence, shot at the world-famous MTV Studios in New York earlier this month, and will feature on MTV Music Generator 2ıs packaging and advertising.

Says David Morales: ³I was actually a fan of the original MTV Music Generator* on PlayStation before Codemasters approached me with the PlayStation 2 edition. In fact my 14-year-old son took if off me a while back and has been playing ever since. He loves it. ³Thereıs something very special about the PlayStation 2 edition; the sound that comes through the console is perfect and itıs fast becoming my perfect portable studio. Itıs great to be working on such a creative and powerful piece of console software.²

Comments Mike Hayes, Codemasters Marketing Director: ³Signing David Morales for MTV Music Generator 2 is perfect for us; his fame on the international club circuit and the acclaim for his studio work embodies the aspirations of the softwareıs users. Also, the mix of big-name and breaking artists weıve secured gives a great spread across the musical styles featured in the software.²
