KONAMI’S ZONE OF THE ENDERS FOR PLAYSTATION 2 SHIPS TO RETAIL OUTLETS NATIONWIDE
Newest Game from Hideo Kojima Contains Free, Playable Demo of Metal Gear Solid 2
REDWOOD CITY, CALIF. – MARCH 28, 2001 – Leading videogame publisher Konami of America, Inc., has announced that Zone of the Enders for the PlayStation 2 entertainment system shipped today to retail outlets nationwide. Zone of the Enders includes a free playable demo of one of the most anticipated games of all time, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. The game and demo are bundled in a single two-disc package, and offered at a suggested retail price of $49.99.
“Zone of the Enders is an action fan’s dream come true,” said Rick Naylor, Director of Product Marketing for Konami of America. “Not only do players get an amazing new game in Zone of the Enders, but they also get a healthy dose of next fall’s biggest game: Metal Gear Solid 2.”
In Zone of the Enders, players take control of a fully armed mechanized robot to fight enemies during a space colony hijack. As the game’s hero, Leo Stenbuck, players experience the consequences of fighting first hand, and learn the true meaning of life and death. Combining amazing PlayStation® 2 graphics, a tremendous arsenal of weapons and a gripping storyline, Zone of the Enders pushes action gaming to new limits.
Zone of the Enders features fast-paced gameplay, intuitive controls, and a sophisticated computer AI that evolves over time and reacts to the player’s actions. The combat system allows for close quarter weapon attacks and long-range assaults. In addition a “Versus Mode” is available for heated two-player battles. Zone of the Enders is rated “M” for mature by the ESRB.
