HIP HOP GURU FUNKMASTER FLEX IS IN THE MIX
MTV¹s DJ Funkmaster Flex Jumps on Board as the Resident DJ for Codemasters¹ MTV Music Generator 2
New York, NY February 21, 2001 Video game publisher Codemasters announced today that MTV¹s master DJ Funkmaster Flex will be the official US spokesperson behind its forthcoming title: MTV Music Generator 2 for Sony¹s PlayStation’ 2. Bronx born Flex is well known in the hip-hop community thanks to his MTV show, ³Direct Effect². In addition to his TV show, he is a multiple gold recording artist, film personality, chart topping record producer and a top rated DJ in the #1 and #2 radio markets in the country (Hot 97 in New York and Power 106 in Los Angeles). He is one of the most sought after and hottest DJ¹s on the urban scene and has worked with a bevy of top recording artists including: Erykah Badu, Busta Rhymes and Missy ³Misdemeanor² Elliot. As founder and CEO of his own record label entitled Franchise Records and CEO of Franchise Marketing, he is an extremely accomplished player on the music scene and acts as manager to numerous DJ¹s.

MTV Music Generator 2 is the sequel to the critically acclaimed original MTV Music Generator that shipped last January. Players can create original soundtracks by utilizing countless pre-recorded riffs and samples from eight different musical styles featuring rock, garage, trance, house, and R&B. MTV Music Generator is the only ³music generating² product available for the console market now featuring several new features and takes full advantage of PlayStation’ 2¹s hardware. Flex will provide two songs players can manipulate. In addition, several bands to be announced at a later date will be contributing pre-recorded tracks.
