Enthusia
Professional Racing is a new racing game by Konami that is striving to be the
most realistic racing game yet. Players will have to battle different weather
conditions on randomly generated tracks both on and off road.
Konami is really focusing on the controls and physics of each car. Enthusia will rely mostly on the driving skill of the player and not on maxing out the cars. The vehicles will still be upgradeable, but even with a powerhouse you’ll still need to know how to drive well to win.
The controls will be pressure sensitive, so many times you’ll need to only give a little gas or brake just a tiny bit like in real life. When you’re out driving, you don’t floor it every time you accelerate, or slam on your brakes every time you take a corner. Enthusia really wants to create an authentic driving feel.
Enthusia is also the first racing game to use a visual G-force dial, showing the player where the forces of gravity are acting on the car. You can also see really well how the car is reacting due to the realistic physics in the game.
Over 100 cars will be featured in Enthusia across more than 30 manufacturers. Each car was filmed and driven by the development team to get just the right look and feel of the cars as they drove.
As of now online is not planned, but there will be a two player mode. Many steering wheels will be supported, including Logitech’s GT Force wheel. Enthusia is looking like an awesome racer, so don’t miss any new info on this one. Right now it is currently planned for early 2005.
