Cowboy Bebop Preview

Already a huge hit in the Anime scene, Cowboy Bebop, featured on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim, is getting some interactive life on the Playstation 2 thanks to Bandai.  The cell-shaded third person action/adventure features the popular characters Spike, Faye, Jett, and even Ein, the Welsh Corgi, as they whoop some interplanetary outlaw butt and collect their bounties.  The game features an original story set to the familiar Jazz music of Yoko Anno.  On display at E3 was a ground mission featuring Spike using a combination of fists and guns to dispose of several enemies.  A targeting reticle mowed down enemies and even interacted with the environment, destroying piece of a building to finish of a few baddies on the ground.  When not using guns to vanquish foes (too many gun-related deaths and Spike may end up with a bounty on his head), Spike punched and kicked with all the finesse of an angry gymnast.  The game is also reported to showcase some flying missions as well. 

Featuring the real actor’s voices from the television show and a storyline that promises to reveal some of the mysteries of the program, Cowboy Bebop should easily satisfy the cravings for even the most die-hard Cowboy Bebop fans.  Cowboy Bebop is scheduled for an October release.
